Hobby on de hill...

Last nite Willie and I loaded up the equipment and took it to the pub. It never stops to amaze me some of the belly achin that goes on. Like your not playin my kind of music. Little do they know that country is the most favored gentre of all the music that exist. And get this. The person that did the belly achin... After my equipment was pulled from the establishment ,Willie and I returned, to find the same man playing the same country songs on the jukebox that we were playin on the computer. The computer even had newer songs. Like, what's up with that? And a couple asked me what I was doing and I said to them, "Oh it is what I do on de hill, it is kinda my hobby on de hill." :)

Kids and Kars...

A man's seventeen year old daughter was driving down their long drive to the main highway one day, when something rolled onto the floor, so she reached to pick it up. As she rose up she realized she was not on the road that curved into the bridge that crossed de creek. And by that time, she was trying to see thru the football team's pep rally logos on the windows. Crash... the pickup she was driving bottomed out on the bank of the creek and she teetered her truck on two tires as the truck settled with one front tire under water... She was safe in her seat. And after about a week she was beginning to get upset with her father about gettin the truck back on the road. Yet, the father was persistant in teaching his lesson. Cause what she did not realize was how close she was to flippin the truck over in the stream and drowning. So remember this. Do not be so eager to bail your sons and daughters out so quickly...Your lessons may actually save their little lives... :)

Extended grace....

to a troubled kid in your house. I say remember, and remember... well. What you were doing at that age. Your brother did the right thing ratting on you to mom for smokin in the barn full of hay. And your brother's friends and their pot plants in the horse pasture was suppose to be off limits to you to harvest. And the sticky fingers that lifted a candy bar at the store every now and then was not acceptable just because your stomach was growling. Give the lectures to the kid and move on. He will turn out ok after he stumples and learns it ain't workin the way it use to for him..:)

The Nobles are...

here, and the noblemen, are over there. Yet... no one wants them anymore. No one wants a man of God, or all the prestige and status in society, that comes with loving a noble. The chicks just want their heads banged against their headboards, and the men that give their thighs a momentary fix, to be gone when the first time feeling has passed....

the stock market took a devastating dive... The deadly train crash in LA was thought to be caused by an engineer on a cell phone. That missed a red light telling him a train was coming on the same track. The hurricanes are drowning people in the south. The economy is like dead. Stone cold. I am still here, asking wtf... At least I have my health :)

A storm just blew in... And the wind damage to the trees around the house is apparent. Perhaps it is the Lord's way of saying you need firewood. :) That Hurricane Ike has messed up the hemisphere all the way North. Sure the rest of the country is feeling it... Well, I have some work to do in the coming days...

Telecommunication...

Understanding the do's and don't do it again... It is so easy today to call someone in this age. Or even text someone. And at some point someone your calling may not respond to your attempts to communicate.. Delete their number. Play it safe. Play it cool. Even if you are thinking you are playing hard to get. And for God's sake do not drunk dial. You may be stressing someone out on the other end. People will respect you in the end. And if you don't get it, they will steer clear of you, after you serve your jailtime...

Cal's oldest gets hitched...

Cal's oldest tied the knot on June 21, 2008, at the lovely Mohican Gardens, in Mohicanville. Visit their site at http://www.mohicangardens.com/ The wedding went without little trouble. Except for a tornado that was sited, and broke up, and then blew over. Added to the drama of a wedding. :) Father of the groom came from California and best man from Nevada where the groom was from. Jessica is finishing up her education in Alliance at Mt Union College where the couple now lives. She is majoring in music education. The bride composed all the music for her own ceremony at the gazebo at Mohican Gardens. Jessica and her new husband, met on the internet, of all places. After five years, the wedding became the celebration of the end, of this internet courtship...
