Early life Will Smith was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 25, 1963. Smith's charming and sly demeanor in school resulted in the nickname "Prince" which eventually turned into the "Fresh Prince." While still in his teens, Smith began rapping and eventually hooked up with Jeff Townes (aka D.J. Jazzy Jeff) whom he met at a party. He attended Overbrook High School in West Philadelphia. D.J. Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince was born with Smith handling the singing and Townes overseeing the mastery of mixing and scratching—the combination were a pop and hip-hop hit during the '80s and early '90s.

While he's no longer a teenager, Will Smith was definitely a hit at last night's Teen Choice Awards where the actor took home three different awards.
Smith won the 'Choice Movie Actor' award for his performance in his most recent film, "The Pursuit of Happyness." He also shared the 'Best Chemistry' award with Jaden Smith, who played his on-screen son in the same film. Last but definitely not least, "The Pursuit of Happyness" was awarded the 'Choice Movie' award for best drama.

Happyness, has earned him a 2007 Teen Choice nomination in the 'Choice
Actor: Drama' category.
Will and Jaden also received the Teen
Choice nomination for 'Best Chemistry' for their heartfelt portrayal of
father and son in the same film.
Fans determine the winners at
this year's show. The first round of voting has already begun and the
second round begins August 1.
